The Reach Outs started as one of those pandemic projects that came out of necessity and the foundation of another group, The Ultrasounds, which played together for 10 years touring the country, playing festivals like MWMF and Big Turn, and sharing the stage with the likes of Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas and Radkey, to name a couple. With Courtney Guenveur Berndt having a quarantine kid somewhere in the Twin Cities while the other three-fourths of that band (Todd Hanson, Megan Hanson, and Amber Fletcher) hunkered down in Winona, MN—something started to happen. And after discovering an old notebook of Todd’s angry thoughts taken down in his corporate office days and a couple of delirious fever-induced shelter-at-home lockdown writing sessions later, a new band was formed. This time, Todd took on the responsibility of fronting and writing songs with Megan and Amber filling in the rhythm section, energetic style, and—of course—female sensibilities, all three doing vocals. The goal is to provide little 2 minute garage punk toe-tappers that you’ll be trying to claw out of your head for weeks. You’re gonna like the way it sounds. We guarantee it. That’s The Reach Outs promise. That’s The Reach Outs difference.
